You will be joining remotely from Hungary our California-based team as a part-time engineer to develop our web-based education marketplace connecting high school students to academic research mentors. You will work on our React frontend and Django/Python backend, which are connected by a REST API. While you will start with a part-time position, this could eventually lead to a full-time offer.

An ideal candidate has shown initiative in the past by working on independent projects that demonstrate their skill in frontend development. Excellent communication skills are also a must to facilitate remote work.

Working with a remote team
- You will work remotely from Hungary (home office)

Online marketplace for research mentorship
Polygence is a Stanford- and MIT-founded online educational marketplace that pairs intellectually curious high school students with PhD and postdoctoral researcher-mentors to pursue tailor-made research projects in the students' field of interest. Polygence's gives motivated students around the world access and exposure to cutting edge research in their chosen areas of interest.
Polygence's goal is to give motivated students around the world access and exposure to cutting edge research in their chosen areas of interest in both the humanities and in STEM. For many of our students this is their first time doing research and they find this experience both intellectually very rewarding and especially beneficial to their academic advancement.
