You will be joining remotely from Hungary our California-based team as a part-time engineer to develop our web-based education marketplace connecting high school students to academic research mentors. You will work on our React frontend and Django/Python backend, which are connected by a REST API. While you will start with a part-time position, this could eventually lead to a full-time offer.

Candidatul ideal
An ideal candidate has shown initiative in the past by working on independent projects that demonstrate their skill in frontend development. Excellent communication skills are also a must to facilitate remote work.

Important
You will make trips to our headquarters at Stanford, California to get a sense of our business, the market and to build team cohesion. As our company continues to grow, so will your responsibilities and career opportunities.
Working with a remote team
- You will work remotely from Hungary (home office)
- You will have flexible hours
- You will have occasional calls with the technical co-founder Janos at 6pm (9am California time) 1-2 times per week and otherwise communicate via Slack or email.

Polygence is a Stanford- and MIT-founded online academy that pairs intellectually curious high school students with PhD and postdoctoral researcher-mentors to pursue tailor-made research projects in the students' field of interest. Polygence's gives motivated students around the world access and exposure to cutting edge research in their chosen areas of interest.
